"When the students at my school received their backpacks filled with materials, their faces lit up like it was Christmas. One student asked, "Is it really for me? I don't believe it!" She and her sisters, who all live in a shelter, were glowing at the end of the day when they ran to show their grandmother their gifts. Another student almost burst into tears when his backpack broke and all its contents spilled out onto the floor. His eyes lit up when he heard that there was a backpack with his name on it. The timing couldn't have been better. He hugged me and excitedly played with the zipper on his new backpack. Then, he did something that amazed me.
